The below table is meant to help you identify which Microsoft certification meets your skills, knowledge or interest best.

   IT professional

 
 MCTS
Gain a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) certification to target specific
technologies and to distinguish themselves by demonstrating in-depth knowledge and
expertise.
 
 MCITP
Gain a Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) certification to demonstrate comprehensive
skills in planning, deploying, supporting, maintaining, and optimizing IT infrastructures.
 
 MCDST
Gain a Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) certification to demonstrate
technical and customer service skills in troubleshooting hardware and software operation
issues in Microsoft Windows environments.
 
 MCSA
Gain a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) certification to demonstrate their

Note For newer Microsoft technologies, such as Microsoft Exchange Server 2010,
